Back from Vegas and I tell you I'm rolling in dough! Yeah, I'm ahead $26 (such a high-roller). They've got these new penny machines now. You pick how many lines across you want (I usually pick the max of 15 or 20 lines depending on the machine) and place your bet of 1 cent per line. I started out with $1 and sitting next to my mother-in-law just watching her and decided to try it. So I built up my $1 to $27 in the course of the evening after we had dinner. Decided to quit while I was ahead. Of course, Bob lost about $10 but he got some free drinks out of it so he was happy. We just are not gamblers but it was fun to hang out with Bob's folks. But, my goodness, the smoke in those casinos is horrendous. GAG *cough cough cough...* then your clothes and hair stinks. And the cigar smokers! Words fail me.
The flight out was fine (finished
A Rose at Midnight which I loved to pieces, it's a keeper) but the flight back was on an MD-80 and Bob and I were in the back. I was seated next to the window but all I could see was the engine! And LOUD! When they pass out foam earplugs before the flight for everyone in the back of the plane, you know you are in trouble. But it was OK because I stuck in the earplugs and read the entire 2-1/2 hours from Vegas to Seattle and finished
The Devil's Waltz and started on
Summer Breeze. I loved
TDW almost as much as
ARAM.
OK, everyone else did this so I had to do it too:
Off to bed, I'm pooped.

*Gasp*!! You lied to me!! You said your blog was worth nothing! *sob*
Nah, I'm okay ;)
I'm so very, very happy that you loved AS's, A Rose at Midnight and The Devil's Waltz. Weren't they lovely?
My parents just got back from a week long stay down there. It was their first time and my Dad was telling me about the penny slots. Being that Dad and I have the 'addictive gambling' gene the penny slots seem to fill the need. Me, I just want to be able to go up to the $25 Black Jack table at least once in my life. It may hurt the old wallet but I soooo want to. Funny how other people want things like jumping out of an airplane or climbing some Mtn. Not me. Just gamble at the black jack table ;)
Glad you had a fun and safe trip!

Hey $26 is better than losing.
TDW really is a good one, and you couldn't go wrong rereading ARAM. I haven't read Catherine Anderson in years, I'm looking forward to your review.
My blog has the same exact value, Maili explained how this value thing works, but I'm still not getting it.
Cindy: No actually what I said was that my blog was valued in the negative numbers which is less than nothing (OK you have to be a math major to get this). Anyway, I was being my usual sarcastic self. I think you should stay away from the new penny slots because they can be very addicting. :) So much fun with all the colors and lights in lots of variations. They had Zorro, Mermaids, Jewels, Egyptian, I Dream of Jeannie (my favorite) and lots of other themes. And they talk to you.
Tara: Yeah, winning $26 is better than a kick in the pants :) This was actually my first read of ARAM and I was blown away. I think Summer Breeze is going to be pretty good. I'm on Chapter 3 and really enjoying it. I figured this blog value thing is a gimmick and I don't get it either.
Aha! You don't deny it! I knew you had said it was in the negative numbers and the funny thing is I was going to try and see if I could get mine into the negative territory ;)
I soooo want to go gamble because I have that sense that I could win big. BIG I tell ya! The last time I went into a casino I locked my bank card in the car and my mother and her best friend laughed at me. I said, just wait. Sure enough they blew through their money in 30 minutes. I came out 35 dollars richer. I think part of it is mentality. If you go in and say, hey, I have 100 bucks and if I lose it all then okay but that's it! My dad went to a casino shortly after that and my mother said she understood about the bank card thing. My dad hit the ATM not 30 minutes after they got there. My dad is a logical and meticulous guy so I know he could stop but I thought it was funny that my mom and dad finally understood why I go in with a set amount and that's it. Bob has never taken me to a casino. He saw enough of gambling Cindy at the county fair ;)
I'm still unsure what to read so I am hogging everyone's comments. Aren't you glad I dropped by again?
