The rain has been absolutely horrible in the Seattle area. I just finished watching the weather report and we have had 22 straight days of rain. And not the usual misty drizzly kind of days. I mean heavy rains almost constantly. The sun came out on Saturday for about an hour. But it gradually got darker and darker and the rain started pouring again. The record number of straight days of rain for our area is 33 days so we are two-thirds the way there. Also another weather statistic...we have had 1/4 of our yearly total of rain for the year! And January is not yet half over. I'm beginning to turn pruny. Western Washington has been hit with flooding, landslides and high winds. Overnight they had about two feet of snow in the mountains. Nice, huh? I need to get out of this place. I need sun!!
So Bob and I are talking about getting on a plane for a two or three day trip south to Arizona to visit my dad. He'll play golf and I will dry out and vegetate. I better start checking around tomorrow for flights out.
I don't need anymore books but while shopping yesterday I found some books I thought I had to have:
Summer Breeze by Catherine Anderson
Dead Reckoning by Linda Castillo
The Mysterious Miss M by Diane Gaston
I got two in the mail from Alyssa:
Carnal Gift by Pamela Clare
Promises Keep by Sarah McCarty
I got one in the mail from PBS:
In the Cold by Jeanie London
I picked up two from the library:
Games of Pleasure by Julia Ross
Hot Spell by Emma Holly, Lora Leigh, Shiloh Walker, and Meljean Brook
Well, at least I'll have something to do while I hibernate in my dry cave. I have all these books piled on the coffee table in front of me and I think it's making me feel better about the rain just looking at them. Books are therapy don't you know.
An avid reader of all types of romance - historical, paranormal, contemporary, romantic suspense - with some mystery and science fiction thrown in.

the library! I really need to find my card and such. These tradesize books kill me!
Yeah, I try to get all tradesize from the library. They have a good selection but they don't have everything I want. For example, they don't carry any Ellora's Cave TPB. Too racy I suppose. Or Emma Holly TPB.
I keep wanting my library to have those Wicked Words books because theyre really hard to find used, and they never have any. :( I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that they all have sex in the title i.e., Sex in the Office, Sex in the Kitchen, Sex on Holiday... lol
Btw, if you want the pics to all be in a straight line, instead of stepstair like that (even though I kinda like it) you can add 1 or 2 [br]'s in between each pic. Replaces [] with <> natch.
You'll have to let me know what you think of Carnal Gift. I'll tell you what I thought when your done. I'm reading Games of Pleasure right now (should update sidebar). I see you have Night of Sin. If I might make a helpful suggestion, I think it would make GOP more interesting if you read NOS first. The hero in GOP makes many decisions based on the hero of NOS - I know - I'm not making it clear - but you will see what I mean. And (yes, yes yes) I'm awaiting Hot Spell in the mail.
Jay - Are they erotica? My library carries some erotica but very little. Oh, I formatted my images like that on purpose :) just for a change. Thanks for the hints.
Kristie - I loved Ride the Fire so much I had to get the others in the series. I was planning on reading NOS before GOP since it's due first at the library. Thanks for the suggestion.
Okay, first of all, why is everyone talking about the books!! You're just going to jet off to somewhere nice, warm and sunny?! Too bad I don't jet - can't do it. If I could, I would be somewhere where my money would equal that of a millionaires' and spend the days on sandy beaches with books carried by - yep, in my dreams ;)
I have to read the first Pamela Clare, The Mysterious Miss M looks very compelling and I don't know how you keep up with the number of places you have to get your books ;)
CindyS
CindyS - We have one of those credit cards where you accumulate mileage for each dollar you spend. Bob uses it to charge all his business expenses. So we have enough mileage for two round-trip tickets to Arizona. Otherwise we wouldn't be considering this. :)
I got all these books this past weekend and had them piled on my coffee table. I'm very anal and organized (about books) so I keep track of this stuff.
