Quick Post

Just a quick post to let you know we arrived home safe and sound from North Dakota. We flew into Minot on Friday and the weather was cold and sunny. But a snow storm blew in on Saturday and dumped about 4 or 5 inches of very dry powdery snow. I was very worried about getting back home because Minneapolis was also dumped on and there were multiple flight cancellations. But Sunday morning was again clear (and very cold) for our flight out of Minot. They de-iced the plane but we were late getting into Minneapolis. They again de-iced the plane in Minneapolis and we arrived in Seattle a mere 45 minutes late.

Sunday and Monday Seattle was hit by torrential rains which we call "The Pineapple Express" because the weather system originates near Hawaii and blasts through with warm temperatures and heavy rains. On my way to work yesterday I came across one intersection that was a lake with water more than a foot deep and water pouring down the street like a river.

My parents in law absolutely LOVED the digital picture frame. It was a HUGE hit. Thank you Cindy! If you are having trouble thinking of a gift idea for your mom or dad or grandparent, this is the thing to buy.

I brought 3 books along to read on the plane and I'm glad I did. I finished 2 of them and started on the 3rd one. I just finished that one last night. I'll post about them soon. I enjoyed all three.

Reading now: Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas
I just started it and I'm only a few pages in so I don't have any impressions yet except that it's already quite intriguing. I can hardly wait to get home from work and start reading some more.

And then I'll be knocking on your blog door *evil grin*

Glad you are home safe and sound. Isn't it great when a gift clicks? I love that. Especially when it's something so personal.

Stay dry. We got hit with a lot of rain this past weekend. It brought the cold (not Minot cold though) but sunny skies are back now.

Welcome home, Renee! The weekend sounds like a great success, despite the weather.

I've got MtM in Mt. TBR ~ I had every intention of reading it right away, but other books have kind of gotten into the forefront. I hope to get to it soon!

Yay!! I'm glad you are home safe and sound and that the parent in laws loved their gift. That makes all the worry and work worth it ;)

I think I'll wait one more year and buy Bob and I one that has a large screen. I was thinking about doing it this year but we have a small one that does 4x6 pics and I want a very large one that could be hung on a wall and that can have cards that have seasonal pictures on them.

Good job on the reading. I'm about to curse myself but one proven way out of a slump is for my hubby to need to go to the hospital. I take a book because normally there is nothing wrong and in fact the last time he went I already knew it was the flu but he needed a doctor to tell him that everything he was feeling was completely normally for the flu.

The docs and nurses saw I was prepared with a book to read and would say 'hmmmm, you've done this before.' Uh, yeah. Books, don't leave home without them. You just might end up with way too much time on your hands and an easy way to end a slump!

Kristie: I've been a bad blogger lately. I'll go back and read your old posts when I catch up on all my Christmas stuff.

Sula: I did like MTM. :) I'll post when I have time.

Dev: I think you'll like MTM. I'm trying to get to all my 2007 books by the first of the year.

Nath: Thanks. Yes, the gift was a smashing success.

Cindy: Yes, the inlaws loved it and you are a genius :) The large screen ones are very cool. That's what I want for myself too. LOL that's one way to be forced out of a reading slump but I hope Bob doesn't get sick. Yeah, I ALWAYS have a book in my car or my purse where ever I go.

Wow, I haven't touched my blog in over 6 years and I'm still logged in!  Good thing because I have no idea what my password is.  In ...
