Marital bliss

We've been having internet connection problems at home so I have been out of commission lately and I miss blogging. Wed night when I got home from work my daughter was in a tizzy because our internet connection was down. She is taking an online class and you can see her dilemma. So I fiddled and fiddled reseting the modem and router, restarting the computer, reinstalling the modem driver, etc. etc. It connected, then disconnected after a few minutes *grumble, shit, grumble, grumble* most of the evening. I eventually disconnected the router and got the internet to connect for the rest of evening.

During that time Bob hollers from the rec room "what's for dinner?" ....

You want to know what I thought ?? ..."he better hope I outlive him, because if I die first he'll starve to death shortly thereafter" the jerk!!! Sometimes I think strangling is too good for him. I hollered back "I'm busy!!!!!"

So he made himself a bowl of canned chili which I don't like so I did not get dinner that night. Oh, I had a bag of low fat microwave popcorn. Does that count? Who needs protein or vegetables anyway.

The next morning the connection is down again so I call Comcast customer support. We went through his entire script of things to do (most of which I had already tried). No luck. We have the modem plugged into the USB port so as a last resort I tried connecting to the ethernet port and tada.. it worked... I is smart. Not. Evidently the freaking USB port went bad. Grrr.

Last night I still had not reconnected the router (because I need to go buy a crossover ethernet cable) so Bob was not able to use his wireless laptop again. And he kept bugging the crap out of me so I tried to explain what the problem was. But he can't understand what I'm talking about anyway so it was wasted breath. He was forced to use the wired computer (which he hates... poor baby... sheesh).

And Thursday he broke the front door handle (??) so I had to go buy another one ($110 yikes).

Plus my car's electrical system is acting up again. The dash warning lights for "check 4WD", "ABS", parking brake indicator all light up off and on. And the heater fan won't come on. And warning bells ring intermittently. Shit. It's really screwed up. I told Bob to take it in weeks ago but he never believes me when I tell him something is wrong with the car.

As you can tell we are short on marital bliss this week.

Just ranting. Go back to what you were doing.

OMG! Did you read my blog today about dinners at our house? I would have yelled back, 'I don't know, whatcha making?' Which would have been the canned stew and I would have been left eating peanut butter straight from the jar and well, things would deteriorate fast ;)

As to my car, Bob's all over it. I so much as say it squeaked and he'll take it in and hand me a bill for 800 bucks. WTF?

In my family, if it wasn't on fire, we drove it. I hate spending money on cars and every once in a while I'll get the, 'when was the last time you had the oil changed?'. 'Uhhhh.' Yeah, I get in shit.

The other night we drove my car and it didn't start on the first try. Bob's all 'how long has it not been starting on the first try?' 'Uh, Bob. That was the first time - chill.' *snort* I didn't say chill but I was thinking it.

Apparently I should have gone back to my own blog to do a bitch-a-thon about my Bob. Still love him though ;)

*grin* You me both. We are short on marital bliss this week as well. You are definitely a heroine for trying to sort out the connection problem. :D

Cindy, you don't know how many times I have used that exact line, but he is impervious to it by now and completely ignores me. He can't/won't cook and refuses to even try. I can get him to grate cheese for tacos. That's it. But the BBQ grill is his completely so we eat BBQ something almost every night of the week in the summer; salmon, chicken, veggies, turkey burgers, etc. He figured out the problem with the car is a relay switch. Bless him. He really is a genius with the car. He's fanatical about changing oil too. Yeah, I love mine too. He took me to dinner last night at a little cafe called The Grumpy Chef. Hmmmm, is that a hint?

Maili: Thanks, I am the resident computer expert at my house since I worked at microsoft 2 years ago testing routers in broadband networking. So Bob expects me to solve any problems immediately. Well, all is good now. And he is being sweet trying to get back on my good side. I'm not sure I have one but let him dream. :)

I woke up this morning (Sunday) to discover that my husband put 4 brand spanking new tires on my car with new rims and hubcaps!

I guess they really did need fixing because when he told my dad what the problems were my dad actually winced - normally he would shrug.

I am all about safety first but Bob's all about making sure that all the tires match so even though I think only one needed to be done, all four were done.

He does take care of me! I'm afraid of the Visa bill next month though ;)

4 new tires!! Wow, that's love :) Seriously. But yikes the Visa bill.

Wow, I haven't touched my blog in over 6 years and I'm still logged in!  Good thing because I have no idea what my password is.  In ...
