Sunburned

Blogger is messing with me and pissing me off. I'm having trouble entering or editing a title in the title box. Anyone else having this problem when creating or editing a new blog post? Update: Someone posted a message on the discussion board about this problem here. The workaround mentioned here works.

I never did figure out how to get the NavBar at the top of my blog to re-appear so I went to Google and created a Custom Search Engine. So if you want to search my blog just use that little tool on my sidebar.

Yesterday I worked out in the garden and got terribly sunburned. At my age I should know better. The weather was perfect... sunny and about 75 degrees and for some reason I completely forgot about sunscreen. I'm usually the one scolding my kids or everybody else about putting on the sunscreen, but for some reason the idea never entered my head. I'm an idiot. I did have a hat on so my face and nose are fine. But my neck & top of my back and the top of my shoulders looks lobster-red. Ouch! Tough night sleeping. Garden looks good though.

I have so many reviews I could write but no time for all of them.

I haven't posted yet but knowing there is a problem will keep my blood pressure from shooting into heart attack range ;)

I'm very bad about not wearing sunscreen but I'm the first to not go outside on hot days and my body over heats very fast if the sun is on my body. So I really just get an overall tan through the summer and my once youthful freckles I used to get as a kid now look like age spots. Totally uncool!

My God son go so burned that when he got water on it it puffed up into a blister. It looks horrible and I gave Sue hell - I used to get horrible burns as a kid also but then again, sunscreen wasn't exactly out there.

So try and keep water off of it and stay out of the sun you goof ball ;)

Cindy: Ouch, that poor kid. We used to live in the desert of Eastern Washington and I used to get some horrible sunburns since I'm very fair skinned. Temps in the range of 100 degrees were normal in the summer and as a result it takes a lot for me to feel heat. Bob calls it my natural air conditioning. People here complain with it reaches 80 degrees and I'm just getting warm. But the downside is I'm freezing all winter long. I can't take cold at all. I used to have the freckle thing going when I was a kid too but it's not attractive the older I get. Yeah, looks like age spots.

It's always the cooler days you get lulled into thinking you are okay or forget the sunscreen. One of the worst sunburns I got was in October at my son's soccer game. I think the temp was in the mid-70s and I wasn't worried about the sun. Dumb!

I hope you are feeling better and get a good night's sleep.

Rosie: Yikes, October. I would never have used sunscreen then either. My worst sunburn was on a boat. The cool breezes had me fooled and the reflection off the water was deadly. Makes me sick just thinking about how bad it was. I'm exhausted now so I'm hoping I'll collapse once I hit the sheets.

I got around the title thing by pressing Tab until the cursor got to the title box.

Do you have any aloe lotion to put on that sunburn? I always have some on hand in the summer (practically no ozone layer left here, so sunburn is very easy to get, even if you wear tons of sunscreen) and it calms the itching very well.

Being of mostly Irish decent on both sides of my family has left me with whiter than white skin and burned and blistered on a regular basis as a child, of course we didn't have 50 proof sunscreen back then. Now that I'm older I'm more careful, though I did get really sunburned feet at the beach this year. I guess I didn't reapply the sunscreen enough.

The funny thing is my son has enough Italian/Sicilian on both sides that he doesn't burn even though he's really fair--I still slather him with sunscreen.

I haven't had a problem with blogger.

Rosario: Yeah, sometimes Tab worked but sometimes it didn't. I slathered on the aloe gel on most of it. I couldn't reach the center of my back and Bob had gone to bed. It does help. I've got to get smarter about the sunscreen. I'm usually anal about it. I've heard about the ozone layer in the southern hemisphere is very thin. Nothing to mess around with at all.

Tara: I wish I had your son's skin. I had a bad sunburn on the top of my feet once. They swelled up so big I couldn't get my shoes on.

Blogger seems to always have some issue or another. I hope they fix this soon. But, so far I haven't had any problems.

Wow, I haven't touched my blog in over 6 years and I'm still logged in!  Good thing because I have no idea what my password is.  In ...
