Sorry I haven't blogged much lately. I am taking 3 classes and the homework is keeping me busy. I have done very little reading too which really sucks.
Go check out the weather maps for Seattle. Today is the hottest day EVER recorded in Seattle! 103 degrees! And it was 104 degrees at my house! Needless to say we don't have weather like this. In fact, I can't remember the last time we had 90 degrees before this year. And we don't have air conditioning. Very few home owners in this area do since you would only need it a few days out of the year.
The only silver lining is that we have a basement and the temp down there is 75 degrees which is very tolerable since I moved the spare bed down there a few months ago so at least we can sleep. Add a fan and it's downright perfect. It's not supposed to cool down for a few days so I figure I'll be melted into a puddle by then. My pots of annuals are drying up and it's a struggle to keep them watered.
Anyway, hope everyone is keeping cool. I'll get back to reading soon.

It's par for the course for us but it was 107 here today. Erg! Even with a/c that's damn hot. Oh did I mention W-I-N-D? Wind blowing 107 degrees in your face. Really, it's too much fun for one person.
wow, that is hot. I live in Florida and it is only 90 here which is nice.
Rosie: Ugh, sounds bad but at least you have AC. We, like most people here, don't. I found myself hoping for a small breeze but there was NONE. But too much wind is worse.
Beth: Today was in the high 80's and I was just thinking how nice and "cool" I was today. Just last year 88 would be considered a hot day. It's all relative, isn't it.
Okay, you guys are just braggin'!!
It's been a bit of a frigid summer up here and my heated pool is more of a pain than it should be. Sure you can jump in and be warm but getting out is hell on the internal combustion system!
I'm hoping August and Sept are hot and dry our way - so send the heat east!
CindyS
your blog looks different! where have i been? lol.
i feel your pain on the classes. been slogging through them for the last two years with no breaks. keep up the great work though...i'm sure it will pay off. :)
Cindy: I'd love to send you some heat! It's 90 right now, we have not had a break in a couple of weeks. I was just out in the garden today and was sweating and wishing I had a pool to jump in. Hope some of our weather makes it out there!
Sula: Two years! Yeah, I sympathize. I just got started this quarter. Next quarter will probably be worse. Yuk! but it's better than sitting around the house wishing I had a job. Good luck to you. I better go blog hopping over since I haven't been to yours lately. :0)
I'm down in Olympia, and it actually reached 110 during the heat wave. It was awful!
I didn't realize you lived in Seattle. Fun! A local blogger!
Kate: Olympia, huh! Wow, we're practically neighbors. It always gets a bit hotter in Olympia than Redmond where I live. We're having a great, aren't we? Probably the sunniest I can remember and I have lived in this area for over 40 years :)
