No, I haven't bought it yet. I need to lose at least 10 pounds before I go shopping... just started Weight Watchers again this week. I hope I can stick to it. "One day at a time" I tell myself.
Anyway, I found a picture of a dress that I kinda like but I'd want it in a different color. If you ignore the fake boobs on this woman, the dress looks similar to what I'm looking for. Although I'd want my boobs covered up a bit more. Not appropriate for MOB to look too slutty :).
Here's the link.
The problem now is finding something like this.
Feedback is welcome.

It's gorgeous!!! The colour would be very flattering but I know what it's like to want a certain colour. I think you should start shopping online to find a dress like it. Then look at the designer name and go to a local dress boutique. I was shocked when I found my dress from the internet in a store up the street from my house! It's also fun to shop online for a while. Let's you know what's out there. I did this for shoes also.
Good Luck!!
CindyS (also on WW but for much more than 10 lbs ;))
Cindy: I have looked a little online for "mother of the bride" dresses but they are all hideously frumpy and purple or beige seem to be popular colors *BLERG* I don't look well in pink because I am so fair skinned that it just washes me out. I'm looking for more of a peachy or coral color or even a pretty pale shade of willow green. I have a yellow-toned skin and those color flatter me. Anyway I have started looking online but no luck yet. I feel a bit overwhelmed because I want to look just right and I'm very picky. *sigh*
Renee, my sister bought her MOB dress by looking at the gazillions of bride's maid dresses. You actually might find something close to this that way.
Very fetching frock may I add. I have a good feeling about this. Don't know why just do. I have my fingers crossed for you.
Rosie: Oh, that's a good idea. My daughter suggested we go to a bridal shop because some carry MOB dresses but I think a brides maid dress would work better since you can order them in various colors and they are more updated. I hate the frumpy old lady stuff I have seen. Thanks
That's a beautiful dress, Renee! My friend found her MOB dress at Dillard's.
That is a beautiful dress! Do let us know what you decide in the end.
You just inspired me to take my Maid of Honor dress issue public on my blog... would love some of your input.
Dev: That's such a good idea. I've been looking online and my daughter is helping by giving me her opinion :)
Kate: I saw your blog entry and left comments on my preference (#2). In fact I showed #2 to my daughter and she loved it too.
