Sunday update

Had to work Saturday which really blows! I want a new job.

My right arm (wrist, elbow, and shoulder) has really been bothering me lately. I think it's related to overuse of my computer mouse. So I've actually been trying to train myself to use my left hand for the mouse. I'm not all that ambidextrous so although I can use my left hand for the mouse I'm very slow at it. I have been looking into buying a wireless mouse.

I went shopping at Best Buy and they had a bunch of mouses (mice?) but my question was ... What is the difference between a laser mouse and an optical mouse? Do you think I could actually locate a sales person to ask a question... NO! I have no patience with big mega stores and their customer service (Home Depot, anyone? Bob loves that place but women are invisible to their sale people, I swear). And I was running late and had to get back to work. I looked online for the answer to my question and I think I have determined that the laser wireless mouse is the one I want. Now it's back to the store and try them out for fit.

I read last night and stayed up very late to finish Perfect Weapon by Amy Fetzer, a new-to-me author. I was very impressed. It was extremely fact paced and very hard to put down and I loved it. The H/H were both excellently drawn and wow the sex was sizzling. The plot had 4 or 5 different threads running through it and were sometimes hard to keep track of. But I didn't sweat it figuring that all would be revealed and it was nicely wrapped up. My only complaint is that I hated the skanky villain sex. I highly recommend this one (my grade: B+).

I am also reading Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich, via Book-On-Tape, in the car. This one is a bit sparce on the laugh out loud moments. Some chuckles but nothing very funny.

Now I have to pick out a book for this month's TBR Challenge and I'm thinking of reading Touch of the Wolf by Susan Krinard but it's seems rather long (401 pages). Haven't read this author before. Anyone else read this?

Update: Go check out AAR's interview with Anne Stuart. I really need Cold As Ice. Of course, I'll probably be the last one to find it. *sigh*

OK - so I won't say I found and bought Cold as Ice yesterday. As for Susan Krinard - I've read quite a few of hers and she's mostly hit but a couple of misses with me. One book of hers I did love is Kinsmen's Oath - a futuristic. As for Touch of the Wolf - that one was a DNF for me. It wasn't because I didn't like it - it was just one of those books I started but wasn't in the mood for at the time. I've always planned on going back and trying it again. I enjoyed the other ones in this series. Another book of hers I really enjoyed was Body and Soul - a reincarnation/ghost story.
And I don't know nothing about no mice. I just recently got myself an optical mouse on the advice of my sister who knows these things better than I do. But she herself has a laser mouse (it was a cost thing with me)

I guy I work with has these mouse problems. He says the trackball mouse helps. But he has also recently gotten Dragon software which he says is awesome (because he was at the point where he couldn't really mouse at all.)
The Dragon software is trained to recognize your voice and type what you speak.

Kristie: Not to be rude or anything but ... shutup! :) I wasn't too upset when I couldn't find the latest JR Ward but I'm a serious fan of AS so I'm getting seriously pissed at the store around here. This time I'm going to call around first. I read Kinsmen's Oath a while ago and remember liking it. I read the first two chapters and skipped ahead to the last two chapters of TOTW last night and I'm having serious doubts whether I'll be able to finish it, it seems way to angsty. I haven't heard of Body and Soul, sounds good. The mouse I liked was $50 !!! That's ridiculous.

Kyahgirl: I'll look into the trackball mouse. But I don't think voice recognition software is what I need yet.

Renee, thanks for link to Anne Stuart interview especially since she talks about my favorite book of hers NIGHTFALL and Richard Tiernan.

I was shocked to find COLD AS ICE at my local B&N they are notorious for taking forever to shelve books. Good luck on your hunt.

I won't crow about finding AS already - ooops, just did ;) I have put Amy Fetzer on my TBB list. I have a wireless mouse but I had no clue there were different kinds. Yep, I picked the one that looked the prettiest and was the mid range price.

I know how to get attention at Home Depot - 1. Help yourself to one of their computers - they'll come flying at you. - 2. Go and climb one of the ladders - I think they had a buzzer that goes off somewhere.

Our local Walmart just added on an entire grocery section. God forbid I just want to go to a store and buy shampoo and toilet paper! I have to cross about 15 lanes of traffic and enter a new zip code! Just imagine what it'll be like when we are older. Already my mother has said she can't shop in the big stores. I'm only 36 but I don't have the patience to shop in the big box stores (okay a bookstore, yes, everything else? no) and really, who has the time to hike to the farthest reaches to get milk?

Okay, that was my rant.

Dang, forgot to say that I hope your arm is feeling better. There was a time that both Bob and I had to use our left hands with the mouse. We both got something in our elbows - I remember barely being able to hold a glass of water! The doctor told Bob he had to rest the arm or he would lose the use of it. Scary but changing hands was definitely the answer at the time.

Rosie: Oh, I loved Nightfall and if I can get a free minute I'm going to call around for Cold As Ice.

Cindy: LOL, thanks for cheering me up. Bob climbed up one of those ladders at HD and I kept watch afraid he was going to get arrested or something. But he didn't get caught. You are so right about the super Walmarts, they are too damn big and I can't find anything. I have good and bad days with my arm. I'm worried about the same thing that that doctor said. If I lose the use of it, I'm toast, but then again changing jobs would be a good thing at this point since the stress here is getting to me sometimes.

i think trackball mice are at the bottom of the pack. if the ball gets dirty then your pointer doesn't respond correctly.

I found this answer about optical vs. laser though when I googled: http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10166_7-6419059-1.html

Jay: Thank you! That's just what I figured out from my search on google. I'm leaning towards the laser mouse and this just confirms it.

So are you seriously considering a job change? I *think* I knew that you enjoyed your job very much but hey, stress is vera, vera bad. I just spent 2 hours with my tummy in knots and all I had to do was spend two hours in a car with my mother!

Oh and don't take, dang, I can't remember the name now but it was a muscle relaxer (it was prescribed and I think it started with a V) - I took it for 14 days and it was a wonder but they found people who took it regularly (arthritis) were having heart attacks. Uncool!

Cindy: Yes, I have been thinking about changing jobs. I like the people I work with and they treat us well here but the stress is really getting to me. My tummy has not been well. At this point I'm just going to update my resume and look to see what's out there. I hate job interviews with a passion so I doubt I'll doing anything yet. But if this product doesn't sell we'll all be looking for work anyway.

Wow, I haven't touched my blog in over 6 years and I'm still logged in!  Good thing because I have no idea what my password is.  In ...
