Sometimes you get lucky

I can't believe this. I stumbled across a used copy of Cold As Ice. Today I ran over to Crossroads Mall to the Blockbuster to see if I could find a movie both Bob and I can watch together (this is not easy, ladies). A few doors down is the Half Price Books and a few doors down from there is the Barnes and Noble. The plan was to pop into HPB for a quick look around then head over to B&N to see if they finally had Cold As Ice. But I was stopped in my tracks when there it was... a used copy of Cold As Ice! I had to blink a couple of times because I couldn't believe my eyes. I was fully prepared to pay full price over at B&N (if the suckers finally had it in stock). I grabbed it and sprinted to the checkout line without even browsing any more. I had to get this to the car before someone discovered it was missing :)

I'm reading it now (even though I'm in the middle of another book) and loving it.

Oh, now that ROCKS!!

Is it sad that I went out and bought the book even though I pre-ordered a copy? I'm heading out because the handy dandy computer stock checked says that No Rest For The Wicked is out at the stores but alas, they still haven't shipped it.

2 reasons why I don't like pre-orders. Looks like I'll have a few returns ;)

When everything works out like that you feel like you should buy a lottery ticket or something don't you?

LMAO!! I love finding new books at the UBS or thrift store. It's so unbelievable it seems. hehe

I bought this book-but no plans to read it just yet. Can't wait for your review.

Cindy: Yep it rocked! Doing both makes perfect sense to me, you just want to have all bases covered to guarantee you get the book ASAP and hey, it's Anne Stuart and that justifies anything.

Nath: Usually I'm NOT lucky so that's why I was so taken aback. And I had a crappy day on Friday (feeling lousy and other stuff) so I figured maybe I was due.

Stacy: Loved Black Ice, you must read! But I think you can read CAI first because the connection is very slight.

Rosie: If I had thought of that I would have done it!

Ames: Don't you love UBS & thrift stores? :)

that's great news. sometimes I kick myself when I look at our UBS here and see a book that I bought full price because I figured I'd never be able to get it there! Now I try to discipline myself to wait till I can get to the UBs but I have no self control :-)

Kyahgirl: I remember buying a book at Border on a Saturday, then finding it the next day at a UBS. I hate when that happens.

Wow, I haven't touched my blog in over 6 years and I'm still logged in!  Good thing because I have no idea what my password is.  In ...
