The Dress

Another wedding update.... I bought a dress! I posted a picture of it here (it's dress #1) but I wasn't crazy about the color selections that Nordstrom online carried. So I kept searching and found the exact same dress at Macy's online in the exact color I wanted (aquamarine).

It's a silk halter dress by Maggy London which leaves my back partially bare. I may chicken out and try to find some kind of jacket or sweater to wear over it. Also I'll need to go buy a halter bra since my boobs aren't quite as perky as they should be (never have been even when I was a young thing). Also need shoes.... *sigh*.... the shopping continues....

Yay! Fun wedding shopping! I got my invitations sent out today, and I feel like I deserve a medal (envelope stuffing... what a pain!)

Still love the dress and kudos to you for sticking with it until you found what you wanted. My sister wore a halter to her son's wedding and she looked great in it. She was soooo worried about her back and not looking appropriately parental. My two cents is don't cover with a sweater or jacket, it's a great looking dress.

Glad you liked the Kleypas book. I've enjoyed her contemps. A good writer is a good writer is a good writer, huh?

Last thought about the blog template is that I'm envious. I'd love to do a complete overhaul on mine but don't see it happening in my near future. Too much going on at work and with the family. I wish I could hire someone again like I did last time. Maybe I should work THAT angle more.

Kate: I feel your pain! I helped my daughter with the envelope stuffing and stamp sticking. It was lots of work but it felt good to get it done.

Rosie: Oh, good! Thanks for that feedback on your sister's halter dress. I feel the same way about my exposed back. If the weather is warm I guess I won't wear a coverup but I'll keep a sweater handy for when it gets cool in the evening. My template looks pretty boring but I can change the header very easily without doing a major overhaul. I thought about hiring someone and that's a good alternative if you don't have the time.

Very nice dress and I love the color :D The most difficult is done :) accessories are easier to shop for in my opinion.

I'm with Rosie, that dress is a stunner and I know you will look great in it! No cover up, unless you get cold, then you know, don't get pnuemonia. Course you could be like me and give the hubby the puppy dog eyes. As great a guy as my hubby is, gallantry when it comes to warmth is not one of them. I usually get the 'you should have brought your own coat!'. Goof.

Great dress :) Don't worry about the perky boobs, I'm 27 and mine have never been perky even as a teen! lol
